I enjoy writing. You should too. In this episode we talk over some basic skills required before you can really enjoy your writing, and have others start to enjoy it too.
TL; DW:
- 95% Perfect Grammar. As long as you’re nearly perfect it’s not going to distract from your writing. Common mistakes include:
- Homonyms
- Comma Errors
- Apostrophe Mistakes
- 100% Perfect Spelling. There’s almost no excuse these days, just use any modern word processor and spellcheck your work.
- Word Choice/Syntax mistakes. Using the same words too often, overusing words, or being deliberately verbose are common ways to ruin your writing.
- Find a “Voice.” Make that voice as true-to-life as possible by deliberate use of tone, formality, sentence length, and structure.
